My favorite pets are dogs.  They are the epitome of unconditional love and loyalty.  I only wish I had the simplicity of heart to love the way my dog Pretzel does.  He is utterly devoted to the family.

Hello Gaia!
What are you up to?  I am taking a quilting class.  My ultimate goals is to make a quilt for each of my kids from their old school tee shirts, scouting shirts, and sports shirts.  I have lots from ages 4-5 up through high school.  I am brainstorming with the instructor of the class on exactly how we're going to do it.
I'm excited about finally thinking up a way to preserve these momentos without boxes full of shirts sitting in the shed.
Dee :)

Humanity.  Humans are a social animal.  Evolution has made it so.  We do better as a species in groups.  We need each other.

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 08, 2008:

I want to be remembered for achieving success as a mother, a friend, a nurse, a Christian, and a person.  I hope to inspire my kids to be loving adults.  I hope to be remembered with love.

How would you respond to those who feel overwhelmed by bad news?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 07, 2008:

What else can you do besides hug them and allow them to cry, talk, vent, or whatever they need to do.  Just being there with them is a big help to most people.

When is competition valuable?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 03, 2008:

Competition is Human Nature!  It drives us to perform at a higher level and to achieve what we would not have done otherwise.  Few of us are motivated enough to excel without competition.

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for June 25, 2008:

With sympathy, then empathy, then trying to find a way to reduce suffering.  I don't run from it.

What was the last thing you found yourself waiting for?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for June 24, 2008:

I am waiting for my youngest child to graduate high school.  But I am not really waiting.  Until she graduates, I have a goal to graduate with my master's degree, reduce my material goods, decrease my spending, and purchase property in southern Florida.
